Arupa Mission Research Foundation signed a partnership with Satya Prakash and Vimal Gandhi Foundation. for a project in Gurgaon for upgrading skills of potential migrant housekeepers. Sunehra Kal is the name of the project. Our Technical partners for training were Lakshya Bhartee Institute of International Hotel Management (LBIIHM), New Delhi for training and certification. The project was inaugurated on 29th August 2017 by Shri Mahesh Dayma, Corporator Ward 32, Shri P.K. Gandhi, Group HR Head, Adventz Group, Dr. Nimmi Gandhi, Mr. Kamal Agarwal, Director Finance, Lakshya Bhartee International Institute of Hotel Management, Ms. Sonali Patnaik, Director, Arupa Mission Research Foundation. Others present included- Mr. Dipankar Das, HR Business Partner, Manpower Group, Mr. Alok Kumar and Sonali Sahu, CSR team Adventz Group. “Sunehera Kal” means a “Golden Tomorrow”.
Sunehra Kal was a good opportunity for migrant domestic workers to earn a good living by upgrading their existing skills / no skills of housekeeping, cooking and table service thus converting them into professional housekeepers and cook. It was also ensured that domestic workers have identities as an individual by having Aaadhar Card, pan card and a Bank Account of their own and were educated on various Government schemes and prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace. Different methods were used to impart knowledge and skills such as mentoring, lectures, participative training and demonstrations. 20 such women were trained off which 10 were certified.
